HE OPERATION of ritish holiday tours outside Le scope of the licences .anted to Sheffield United ours was admitted before Le Yorkshire Traffic Cornissioners' at Leeds on. londay.

appiway Tours 4anchester) Ltd and Heaps ours Ltd, concerning a hedule of tours operation -oduced at the request of e Commissioners.

Mr T. E. Crewe. assistant operations manager (south) National Travel (NOrthEast) Ltd, agreed that eight day tours to the Isle of Wight: Sandown loW and Hastings operated during 1973 and 1974 were not within the scope of the licence. titles than those specified in. the licence.

An undertaking was given that although similar tours were on offer for 1975 they would not be operated without the permission of the Commissioners.

It was the fifth day of the hearing of Sheffield United applications for new picking-up points in the West Riding, northbound, and for new feeder services from this area and Hull, southbound for its British and Continental tours from

Sheffield (CM December 20). They are part of a series made by operators following the success of Wallace Arnold on appeal in obtaining similar facilities in South Yorkshire. The Commissioners had heard and reserved decision on applications by Pleasureways (1955) Ltd, and Shearings 1-lolidays Ltd and had yet to hear others by Happiway and Heaps Tours.

After continuing the hearing of public witnesses on Tuesday the hearing was adjourned to March 13.
