Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AWARENESS of physical distribution management had to be brought into management education generally, Mr J. Wilson-Smith, a member of the Centre for PDM, told a one-day seminar on the "Marketing of transport studies" at Aston University, Manchester, last week.

He said it was also necessary to provide vocational training for those already engaged in PDM.

One problem was that smaller firms in particular could not afford lost manhours by allowing students to attend lengthy programmes.

One thing to be looked at closely was the gap in transport training and education schedules between the ages of 16 and 18.

The seminar also considered establishing a register to ensure that there was no duplication of available training or educational courses.

The seminar was sponsored by the Organisation of Teachers of Transport Studies. Sir Daniel Pettit, NFC chairman, presided.
