MARCUS FOX, chosen by Mrs Thatcher to shadow Transport Minister Fred Mulley in the Opposition environment team lead by Mr Tim Raison, is well qualified for the job.
As secretary of the Conservative back-bench Transport Industries Committee from July 1970 to January 1973, he acquired a wideranging knowledge of road haulage and its problems.
Mr Fox, 46, MP for Shipley since 1970, is d company director, owner of a textile finishing firm and partner in a travel agency.
Before his present appointment he was successively an Opposition whip, an additional Opposition spokesman, first on the environment and latterly on housing.
