AN oil-sump guard made from heavy-gauge corrugated steel is an accessory for Big Bedford vehicles which has recently been marketed by the parts service division of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd„ and is obtainable from Bedford dealers. It is of particular interest to operators of tippers.

The guard fits in front of the sump and protects it from damage when rough ground is being covered. It is bolted to the front and rear flanges of the forward cross-member of the chassis. Supplied complete with nuts and bolts, etc., the guard costs £1 5s.

A dashboard-pocket lock has been introduced which may replace the standard press-button fitting with which it' is identical, except that the plain button is replaced by a barrel-type lock. With two keys, this item costs 9s. 6d.

Twin-windscreen-wiper kits are also obtainable, provision for which is made • on Big Bedford vehicles. The complete kits cost El 18s, 6d. each.
