The Northern Licensing Authority made this comment when he heard the company's application to run a service to Sunderland Corporation's newest housing estate at Hylton Red House. Mr. G. S. McIntire, town clerk of Sunderland, stated: "We want to keep Northern buses off the estate—to the route they already have along the edge of it." The corporation's objection was rejected, but the Authority said that the proposed route must be amended so that the estate was-entered directly by the company's buses and not through the adjoining corporation estate of Marley Pots.
