SIXTY-TWO Conservative MPs have signed a House of Commons motion criticizing the Government for cutting the Covent Garden market scheme from the spending programme or next year, thus delaying the start of the lew market at Nine Elms.
The MPs, led by Mr. John Wells (Maidstone), say that the Government should at least make enough money available to ensure that the preliminary stages are not delayed, as the new market would save manpower, improve central London road conditions and assist producers, salesmen and consumers.
