CHESHIRE County Council wants to ban heavy lorries from many country roads in South Cheshire.
The original proposals put forward earlier this year were criticised as "inadequate" in the Nantwich area where there has been opposition to lorries using roads as short cuts.
The new proposals ban vehicles over three tons from more than 20 roads in the Wybunbury, Newhall, Audlem and Hankelow districts. The council rejected a plea for restrictions on the main A525 through Audlem because it would pose too many problems for operators.
