Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

iE END OF A YEAR is not a bad time to take stock; but the end of a decade probably even more appropriate. During the Seventies CM has fared very all. Our circulation in ten years has increased by more than 12,000 copies a eek. We lead the field in Europe and, as a recent survey shows, we are read f those who make the decisions and those who influence policy.

Our success has coincided with a decade of recession — and that makes it I the more remarkable. But we do not claim exclusivity in the success story. Operators in all parts of Britain can look back with equal pride on their hievements over the past ten years. There are certainly those who have )ne out of business, but compared with the 700 who started up every onth the losses are minimal.

Transport men are resilient and adaptable. They always have been able to rercome adversity and adapt their operation to meet changing demand. This undoubtedly the reason for their success.

Fortunately, it is not part of their philosophy that life should be easy or that has much to do with success. They have been nurtured in an atmosphere at demands hard work before just rewards can be reaped.

Before positive thinking became psychological jargon, it was being actised effectively by transport operators. In so doing they have nsistently confounded the economic recasters and hopefully they will ntinue to do so in the next ten years.
