Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

D. MALLINSON'S letter on the T45 (CM December 8) finished with his asking when we are going to get an "I'm backing Leyland campaign?"

The answer to that must be never. Who in their right mind could back a firm like that, with workers sleeping on the job, shoddy workmanship, no aftersales service and new vehicles that look vintage?

If the T45 is as good as D. Mallinson thinks it will be, I will eat my hat. I expect Leyland will sell some to public companies, but no one in general haulage or owner-drivers would ever buy it after the trouble they have had with Leyland products in the past.

My advice to anyone even considering buying a T45 would be stick to well-proven lorry builders with good after-sales service like Ford, Volvo and Scania. After all Leyland put themselves where they are.
