Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A RECENT check of nearly 300 wheels by Dunlop engineers revealed that nine per cent had their pressures up to 10 per cent under-inflated, while 33 per cent were more than 10 per cent under-inflated for their plated axle loads.

Five wheels had their valves inaccessible mainly due to their being too short and jammed between wheel and brake drum.

Three tyres were flat while seven had their valves blanked off due to incorrect twinning. Valve caps were missing on 39 per cent.

The main factor to emerge from the survey was the need for operators and drivers to pay greater attention to pressures.
