GOODYEAR Tyre and Rubber Company has promoted Bob Tinsley to the position of production manager at the company's main factory in Wolverhampton. He was previously a divisional superintendent at Goodyear's factory in Danville, Virginia. Mr Tinsley had joined Goodyear in 1957 and until now had spent all his career with the company in the United States.
John Tanner has joined Toleman Trucks as general manager of the company's newly acquired subsidiary Mayfair Garage (Tamworth). He moves there from OT Jackson Motors where he was general manager. In his new appointment, Mr Tanner has overall control of Mayfair Garage which will specialise in MAN-VW lorry and bus range, plus VW vans and Audi-VW cars.
Also in the retail world, Michael Stringer joins the board of Tozer Kemsley and Millbourn (Holdings). He is deputy chairman and managing director of Wadham Stringer, the car and commercial vehicle distributors taken over by TKM just recently. Mr Stringer became managing director of Wadham Stringer in 1971 and deputy chairman in 1974.
The new marketing manager for truck rental and leasing in the United Kingdom and Europe for Hertz is Mike Libra. Mr Libra is to be responsible for developing a marketing plan and increasing Hertz operations in the United Kingdom. He will be based at the Hertz Europe headquarters in Isleworth, Middlesex.
