I FEEL I must comment on the letter (CM May 18) "Ten years behind-. I must agree with the writer but I would say that LV was about 20 years behind most imported vehicles.

I have been an hgv driver for the past 30 years and at one time owned some Leylands till their non-existing after-sales service put me on the dole!

I am now driving for a firm that runs only foreign vehicles and everyone is very happy with them. LV is a joke and very few private fleets would want to buy them. Few drivers like to drive them, at least I have never met anyone who has anything good to say about them.

As for the Editor's comments at the bottom of the page, I can see why CM cannot really test a new British vehicle or a foreign one and find a lot of faults and say it was a load of rubbish when on the front cover they might have a advert from the builders saying how good it is. STEPHEN FORREST.
