For the development engineers at Land Rover the answer was simple: come up with an affordable clip-on accessory to dampen the enthusiasm of its competitors in the off-road market.
Here's the result of their work — the Land Rover Clipper, due to compete in 4x4 races at Cowes this summer. Land Rover, it transpires, will be sponsoring Cowes week for the next four years.
