Salford City Council was not prepared to discuss with CM the terms of the agreement in any great detail, although a spokesman revealed that substances containing petrol or fuel, or if of a combustial or dangerous nature should not be bought or sold on the premises.
The Greater Manchester Fire Brigade had still not discovered
the cause of explosion by Mos day this week, but the chemica involved in the fire have no, been identified. Paradichlor benzine (a toilet freshener) an titanium dioxide (a paint pil ment) were found to be th cause of the smoke cloud tht hung over Salford.
Other chemicals found on th site were sodium chlorate, al( minium chloride, dichlor benzine and iron oxide. Variot, drums containing the chemical have been salvaged, althoug their labels have been burnt o and the drums themselves badl charred.
Demolition of the transpo depot has started and should h completed by the end of ne) week, a spokesman for the fir brigade said. All the chemical should have been cleared awa by then.
