TO ENCOURAGE top management to take a close look at their company's transport operation, Inbucon / AIC Management Consultants Ltd is sending them a series of papers on road transport.
The papers are not intended for trained transport managers for the facts contained in the papers are well known to these. But most transport managers are responsible for only about a third of the transport costs, according to Inbucon, and the rest are controlled by the accountant.
It is this area which must be considered by management, as well as that administered by the transport manager, when cost savings are .being discussed.
The Inbucon papers look at the 'background, current developments, and the problems of financing and maintaining transport.
