AN experiment in interavailable tickets is to be tried in Glasgow. It is proposed that for a period of six months, a shuttle bus service should he run between Pollok housing estate and Corkerhill railway station, from which passengers would continue their journey into the city. Weekly season tickets covering both road and rail services would be issued for 4s. 6d., of which the Railway Executive would receive 3s. 6d. and Glasgow Corporation Is.
Glasgow Transport Committee objects to this distribution, but is prepared to agree to it provided that the position be reviewed at the end of six months. Should the experiment prove successful, it may be extended to other housing estates.
