Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Master Battery Switch

(IN more than one occasion in the ‘../past we have expressed the view that a switch, by which the accumulator can readily be isolated from the rest of the starting( lighting and ignition system, is desirable.

As a safeguard against fire in cases of emergency, particularly on passenger vehicles or when valuable or highly inflammable goods are carried, its value is high, whilst it obviates the risk of electrical leakage when the vehicle is standing and the need for cables to be disconnected when work is to be executed on an electrical component or a part of the wiring.

Such a switch has just been introduced by C.A.V.-Bosch, Ltd., Acton, London, W.3. It is designated Type 126 battery cut-off switch and is of the double-pole variety. Hand operated, it incorporates large-section contacts, to afford minimum voltage drop, and a powerful spring to ensure good electrical contact. A quickly detachable cover totally encloses the mechanism and live portions.
