In the next issue of The Commercial Motor will appear a well-illustrated technical survey of tendencies in French commercial-motor design, written after a first-hand examination of the exhibits at the Faris Motor Salon which opened yesterday (Thursday) and closes on Sunday, October 17.

This issue will also contain a report of the chief exhibits of interest to commercial-vehicle operators at the Ford Motor Exhibition, which opens at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on Thursday next and closes on October 23.

Lord Nuffield Makes an Announcement.

Lord Nuffield has authorized the statement that the liquidation of Nuffield Mechanisations, Ltd., is for the purpose of the amalgamation of the business of that company with Wolselev Aero Engines, Ltd., under the name of Nuffield Mechanisations and Aero, Ltd. The company in liquidation and that newly formed are not subsidiary companies of Morris Motors, Ltd.

a4 Lord Nuffield also intends to liquidate his private holding company, Morris Industries, Ltd., following the absorption by Morris Motors, Ltd., of trading companies previously in his private ownership.

Morris Industries, Ltd.. has no connection with Morris Industries Export, Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Morris Motors, Ltd., and handles the whole of its export business.

Milk Producers and C Licences.

The N.F.U. points out that milk producer-retailers who use motor vehicles for the conveyance of milk or other produce of their own farms need not take out C licences, even if they retail from the vehicles, provided that the vehicles be authorized under an Agricultural Road Fund licence.

"Contract " Appeal Shortly.

Efforts are being made to expedite the hearing of the appeal of Mr. Edwin Clark against the Metropolitan Licensing Authority's refusal to grant him a Contract A licence for work for Hornchurch Urban District Council. A.R.O. intends to make it a test-case.
