Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

53 tons on A licence by Robert Walker (Haulage) Ltd., of Woodford, Cheshire, was adjourned for a future hearing M early June by Mr. J. Newman, the North Western deputy Licensing Authority at Manchester this week.

If the application was granted, certain A and B licences would be surtendered. There would be an increased unladen weight of 9f tons and it was submitted that the additional tonnage was justified by increasing customer demands. Objecting were British Railways, British Road Services and two private hauliers.

Mr, E. J. Walker, managing director of Robert Walker, stated that his company had moved into new premises in 1962 because of a compulsory purchase order for the previous property.

Mr. J. Lawton, for Pickfords Ltd. said that he required the applicant to provide invoices at the next hearing. Mr. Walker adamantly refused and the L.A. suggested that he reconsider his decision.
