Irish Warehousing and Transport Company Ltd has been taken over by Frank Scully and Gus Danaher (CM, August 1). Mr Scully was with B+I for nearly 25 years, becoming assistant chief executive in charge of freight and operations in 1973. Gus Danaher worked for B+I for 22 years and was manager in the UK for 10 years before returning to Ireland in 1979 to become managing director of Shertrans, a wholly owned B+I subsidiary.
Jack Beeson has been promoted to the position of general manager of Salfresh Ltd, Christian Salvesen's new distribution service (CM, April 18). Mr Beeson joined Christian Salvesen eight years ago as transport manager of the company's Droitvvich cold store. For the last four years he has been manager of the company's Atherstone transport depot which serves the distribution needs of British Home Stores. In his new job he will be based in Manchester, where the first Salfresh depot is now operational.
Formerly company accountant, Colin Soutar has become joint managing director of Planthaul in Bedford. His responsibilities will include finance, operations and service.
Peter Green has taken over as traffic manager of National Travel (East). He was previously operations manager (central with National Travel (East) based at Liversedge, a position he held for three years. Apart from various appointments within National Bus, Mr Green has also worked for Wallace Arnold Tours of Leeds. In his new job he will be based in Sheffield.
