runs the firm decided to throw in the towel.

"The container haulage business has been going down the pan for a few years now and we've decided to get out while we can," says a spokeswoman. "It was taking longer and longer to be paid and basically we have had enough of the firm." The staff are to be laid off and the family says it has no plans to return to haulage.

The company's fleet of seven late-model lveco EuroStar tractive units will be sold alongside a brand new Volvo FH12 and a mix of skeletal and flatbed trailers at the company's site on 23 March by auctioneers Malcolm Harrison.

• Harrison is also selling the fleet belonging to MF Sabin Haulage after owner Mike Sabin decided to retire.

Several tippers and a lowloader outfit will be sold alongside other equipment near Banbury, Oxen on 16 March.
