A SUCCESSFUL application to increase bus fare was Made to the North Western Traffic Commissioners in Manchester last week by the City of Lam caster Authority and the joint operator, Ribble Motor Services Ltd. Mr C. R. Hodgson, Chairman ol the Commissioners, announced that he would grant the application after being told that the general rate fund would have to stand losses incurred through increased wages and overheads. The increases, of 1 p and 2p on fares between 2p and 5p, will come into effect on June 15.
