SIGNATORIES of the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport's declaration of intent will meet in Scarborough next week during the Public Road Transport Association conference. They will be ,discussing the Confederation's still unfinalized constitution together with measures aimed at breathing life into the body, which was first formulated more than a year ago.
The meeting will consider the results of discussions last
Friday between representatives of the Confederation and of the Association of Public Passenger Transport. That meeting is understood to have produced few positive results and to have been largely a "clearing the air" session. Further developments towards finding some formula for accepting lay membership to the Confederation which is acceptable to APPT, can clearly be expected after the Scarborough talks.
