• Operators who's vehicles go off road onto tips or scrap yards and repeatedly suffer punctures could find a new sealant from Tyre Team useful. Holes in the tread area of up to 7mm on a tubeless tyre are guaranteed to be sealed by the liquid.
Treatment requires 11/4 litres of the liquid to be put into a 11R22.5 tyre by removing the valve, (two litres for super singles).
When a puncture occurs the liquid will flow into the hole and form a permanent seal. "This is not just a get-you-home measure", says Tyre Team's Mike Lodge.
A single treatment is said to plug up to 20 punctures and 10 super singles can be treated from a 20-litre drum costing £200. Other benefits claimed for the product is the sealing of slow punctures and the tyre onto the wheel (preventing under-inflated running and in A 11R22.5 tyre takes 11/4 litres of Tyre Team's liquid.
creasing tyre life). Punctures over 7mm will not immediately deflate but will cause a slow leak to draw attention to a badly damaged tyre. The level of liquid prevents it from sealing side wall damage.
