• York is working on a 13.6m pillarless curtainsider with an aluminium cant rail. Using aluminium instead of steel cuts a claimed 240kg from the trailer's weight.
Boalloy's 13.6m pillarless Tautliner is due to debut at the Institute of Road Transport Engineers show in Telford this May. Managing director Gerald Broadbent says he wants to make sure that the new model is perfected before the launch, although it will go on trial with "select customers" first (CM 13-19 December 1990).
