• Engine manufacturer Gardner is running courses for truck operators at its Manchester HQ. The threeday courses cost £240. Its newest engine, the LG1200, was introduced at the Birmingharn Motor Show.
Merc money
• Mercedes has launched an in-house finance package. The service will be offered as an alternative to outside finance deals to cover lease purchase as well as maintenance and contract hire arrangements.
Astra facelift
• Italian heavy truck manufacturer Astra is to facelift its fibreglass half-cab and day cab within three years; it says it is keen to improve driver comfort.
