• A property firm is planning to open a £35m truckstop and business centre on a 19ha (46acre) site, 5km from Colchester, Essex.
Tech-Nauto, the firm set up for the project, says the site will open in 1993 to offer transshipment, maintenance and repair, a lorry park and hotel, and an HGV operating centre with an overall Operator's Licence from which ownerdrivers can rent space.
