• GM could have the answer to workshop owners' difficulties over the forthcoming exhaust testing regulations to be included in the MOT test. Anyone purchasing its infra-red CO exhaust gas analyser for the MOT test can get a full refund against a twoor four-gas unit as required to meet the proposed CO and HC test.
Until the full specification of the combined test is published the company says it is not possible to say exactly which analyser will be required. In the mean(time its CO-only analyser, costing £495 ex VAT, will meet the MOT requirement when it is implemented, probably later this year. The combined test is due to take effect one year later.
