It has an interior height of 6 ft. 6 in. A sliding door divides the van into two sections. The front half comprises the dark room, containing the developing equipment.

A water storage tank is mounted below a stainless-steel sink, beside which is a washbasin and hand pump. A drying cabinet, table, chair and storage cupboard complete the equipment in the dark room.

The rear of the van contains the X-ray equipment. A portable X-ray set of 260 kV. capacity can be accommodated. An area of the floor is reinforced for the isotope container, which weighs 13 cwt.
