T" private hauliers, British.RailWays and. B.R.S.. (Pick lords), Ltd., were asked at Bristol, last week, why they had objected to a small application by a local furniture remover. 7 Mr.S,.W. Nelson, Western Licensing Authority, said he could not understand it, -as the applicants'were operating the same number of vehicles for. which they had always been licensed, although the unladen weight had slightly increased.
He was hearing an application by Ci. Rogers and Sons, -Trowbridge, for 'the addition of a small vehicle foritouselsold and ,furniture removals within a 10-mile radius. Mr. J. McGregor Johnson, for Rogers, said they needed the vehicle to help out with small removal jobs.'
For the objectors it was claimed -that existing facilities were sufficient, and that nowitnesses had been produced by the applicants.
Mr. Nelson said he had to consider the needs of the public, and he thought a case had been made out-, so the addition would be granted.
