OPPOSING an application by the Western S.M.T. Co., Ltd., to alter the summer timetable of their Kilmarnock-Greenock service, Clyde .Coast Services, Ltd., Ardrossan, claimed Iasi week that the proposals would violate a gentleman's agreement between the corn pan ies.
Mr. J. Kirkland, for Clyde, told the Scottish Traffic Commissioners that the companies had co-ordinated stage services in the Largs, Greenock and ,Kilmarnock area, but to grant the present application would put the whole matter_ back in the melting pot.
For Western S.M.T., it was stated that they wanted to bring the winter and summer time-tables of their various licences init.) line. The KilmarnockGreenock summer time-table Ow ran from the third Saturday in June to the third Saturday in 'September, but they wanted it changed to the third Monday in June to Glasgow Autumn Holiday Monday.
Refusing the autumn holiday variation,: Mr. W. Quin, chairman, said he did not propose to alter the present situation. There was no objection to the June alteration, which was granted.
