WE regret to record the deaths of MR. ROGER WATERI.OW SEWILL, MR. BERTRAM DEAN STANLEY and Ma. ERNEST JOHN LEE.

Mr. Sewill, who was 65, was one of thc road haulage industry's leading spokesmen. He was a founder-member of the Road Haulage Association and the British Road Federation, and served on a number of official and semi-official bodies concerned with transport administration, notably during the war when he was general manager and secretary of the Hauliers' National Traffic Pool.

He was concerned in the formation of the National Road Transport Federation, and resigned his directorship of the R.H.A. in 1948. His early career was as managing director of the London and Southern Counties Transport Co., Ltd.

Mr. Stanley was a former secretary of the East Kent Road Car Co., Ltd. He retired in 1954, having joined the concern in 1916 as an accountant.

Mr. Lee was a pioneer of passenger transport in the Hull area, becoming a director of Lee and Beulah. Ltd., subsequently taken over by East Yorkshire Motor Services, Lid. He retired in 1954.
