John Moore, the Transport & General Workers Union's national secretary (road transport) says he will encourage further collaboration in regional pay talks with the United Road Transport Union.
URTU general secretary David Higginbottom says he and Moore have been able to make progress in persuading Road Haulage Association chiefs of the "growing importance" of the two unions' Joint Industrial Council in protecting workers' rights.
