• Dublin-based McCormick Macnaughton Group has put its wholly owned subsidiary McCormick Macnaughton commercials up for sale as a going concern. The Iveoo Ford dealer for the Republic of Ireland also holds the franchise for Fiatagri tractors and farm machinery. It employs 20 staff and has an annual turnover of about Din.
McCormick Macnaughton Commercials secured the Iveco Ford franchise in 1989 when 150 lveco Ford trucks were sold. Around 350 units were sold last year.
Marketing manager Peter Kelly says the company is up for sale to allow it to concentrate on its core activities which are the sale and servicing of construction and mining equipment.
Alongside sole agencies for Caterpillar and Ingersoll Rand, the company holds the franchise for Yokohama Tyres.
Kelly says he wants to exploit the expected growth in the Irish construction sector over the next few years following the recent government announcement of a 46% increase in road building this year and the allocation of f.8bn in EC Structural Funds for Ireland.
