Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

How secure is your computer system? You may think you've got a good handle on it—nobody's allowed to look at "inappropriate sites" in your traffic office; no one can spend hours of your time (and money) surfing the Internet; and no one can get into the personnel files without a special password. Job done—it's watertight.

Or is it? Our story on IT security (see story, left) and how you might be unwittingly hosting a porn site should make you think again. And what about e-mail security?

According to a recent survey 56% of people admit to knowingly opening e-mails addressed to someone else. So how do you send your contract prices or tender information? Who else might see that information—and then steal a customer out from underneath your nose? And what about e-mails coming into your computer? How closely do you look at what's being sent to you? And what filters do you have in place? Road hauliers might seem an unlikely target for better IT security; after all, who on earth would be interested in YOUR secrets? Don't mess around.
