press releases are not usually noted for their varied subject matter. Granted, the stories of road improvements, gantry work on motorways and traffic hotspots are undeniably worthy and show what a fine, fine job the Highways Agency is doing, but they don't generally open up new and exciting avenues for your humble scribes. So we're left slightly confused by its latest missive entitled: "Otters and roads report published", detailing the impact that trunk roads have on all those little Tarkas out there. The report details patterns of otter deaths and ways to minimise them in the future under the heading Otter mitigation measures. Expect more reports soon on Badgers and motorway service areas and Weasels: their role as transport professionals.
