THE NEED to resolve union opposition to tachographs before legislation is introduced Will be emphasised by the Merseyside Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a letter to the Transport Minister and local MPs.
This will call attention to the difficulties that could arise when the UK Government introduces the EEC regulation making tachographs compulsory for most goods vehicles.
It is essential for this matter to be resolved before legislation is introduced.
Also it would take a long time to fit instruments to all commercial vehicles in the UK.
