A LIQUID petroleum ga conversion of Chrysler's 5i Series will shortly be availabl in the UK. A prototype wa exhibited to European dis tributors at the Paul Rican Circuit in France last week.

The conversion. usin Dutch Landi Hartog equip ment, was carried out b Autogas of Hunslet, Leech The power unit is Chrysler' 6,225 cc (380 cu in) petrol er gine which develops 65.5 K1 (88 bhp). It has a carryin capacity of 3.4 tons at 5.5 ton gvw.

Chrysler also had on shol for the first time an S50 with Perkins 6.247 diesel whic should equally meet demand for urban delivery or motoi way work. It has an estimate top speed of 80 mph (12 Kmph). On the 1.8 km Ricar straight it reached 75 mph (11 Kmph). It is now available i the UK.

A Walk-Thru body will t available on the S50 before tl end of this year.

A spokesman for Chryslt said that the S50 was alreac proving popular with bot local authority and urban c1 livery operators.
