Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A MANUFACTURER-fronted finance scheme was launched this week by Leyland Trucks.

In the past Leyland has been one of the few commercial vehicle manufacturers not to offer a finance scheme, leaving its distributors to make individual arrangements with finance houses for customers' hire purchase (HP) and lease deals.

This gap has now been filled by Leylease, with distributors able to offer a Leylandpromoted scheme arranged through Lombard North Central, the National Westminster Bank finance house. Distributors are still free to retain their own links with other finance houses but Leyland believes that they would be unlikely to better the Leylease rates.

Hire purchase, finance leasing and operational leasing are available but Leyland stresses that Leylease stops short of full contract hire. Customers can also opt for a repair and maintenance contract with the local distributor as part of the deal.

For major fleet customers an individually tailored Leylease financial arrangement is being offered.
