A NEW DEVICE designed to prevent air pollution by exhausts In enclosed spaces has gone on sale.
Called Unitox, it is a preheated catalyst unit designed to attach, via a short hose and funnel, to the exhaust pipe of a vehicle being manoeuvred. With the unit fitted The vehicle may be driven short Jistances (such as around a workshop) with the device attached. Carbon monoxide and any other hydrocarbon impurities in the exhaust burn at a much lower temperature when passed over the pre-heated catalyst and are converted to harmless end products such as carbon dioxide and water vapour.
