Mr. Harry Green, Crosville Motor Services divisional manager at Crewe, Middlewich and Newcastle for the past 19 years, is to retire at the end of this month. Mr. Green started his career with Crosville at Chester in 1923. He held the position of depot superintendent at Criceieth and Caernarvon and subsequently went to Wrexham as assistant to the chief general manager. He will be succeeded by Mr. B. 0. Boys, of Birkenhead.

Mr. Eugene K. Kelly has been appointed to the board of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. and also director of manufacturing. The appointment arises from the retirement, later this year, of Mr. Edgar A. Wondracheck, who will continue on the board of directors until his retirement. Mr. Kelly. who is 46, was previously plant manager at Adam Opel's new factory at Bochum and had previously held many positions in General Motors in the U.S.A.. having originally joined the Coach and Truck Division at Pontiac in 1940. Mr. N. H. Knight has been appointed a principal executive assistant of London Transport in the office of the schedules superintendent (road services). Mr. Knight will be responsible for the control of the central bus section of the schedules office and will deputize for the schedules superintendent as necessary.

Lord Merrivale of Walkhampton has been elected president of the Institute of Traffic Administration for the ensuing year. Mr. A. W. Mahoney (South Western Gas Board) becomes chairman of the national council, with Mr. F. R. Pywell (Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd.) and Mr. J. A. Broster (J. Broster Transport Services, Manchester) as vice-chairmen.

Mr. John " Jamie " Jameson, who has been been head of the photographic department of Leyland Motors Ltd. for almost 30 years, retired at the end of last month.

Mr. Alan Weston has been appointed group market research manager for the Leyland Motor Corporation, which will be additional to his present position of personal assistant to Mr. D. G. Stokes, deputy chairman and managing director to the Corporation.

Officers of the new Tees-side branch of the Transport Managers' Club are chairman, Mr. A. Harley (H. L. Walker Ltd„ Stockton-on-Tees); secretary, Mr. Eason (R_ Durham Ltd., Stockton-on Tees); treasurer, Mr. Tannerhill W. Cameron and Co. Ltd., Hartlepools), Mr. M. R. (Mike) Norman has joined the Avon Rubber Co. Ltd. as public relations executive and will be based at the group's head office in Melksham. Wilts.

Mr. H. J. Brandenburg has been appointed treasurer director of the Brentford plant of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. Mr. Brandenburg, who has been comptroller of the company's Los Angeles, U.S.A. division, succeeds Mr. A. W. Edlin, who is retiring.

Mr. E. C. Frost, sales representative for Florida Auto Lamps, hat added Middlesex to his West and North West London areas.

Mr. William Bell has been appointed treasurer/comptroller of Chrysler Motors Ltd. and Dodge Brothers (Britain) Ltd., Kew, Surrey. Mr. Bell joined Chrysler in 1960 as supervisor, general accounting.

The Minister of Transport has appointed Mr. P. E. Manley as a member of the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for the West Midland area. Mr. Manley is the Birmingham district traffic representative of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board.

Having i.cached retirement age, Mr. W. E. Smith, for 10 years a director of C. G. Norman (Commercial) Ltd., Austin C.V. distributors, London, has resigned from the company's board.
