Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A few days ago the first auction sale of Government motor vehicles was held at Olympia, and there was much keen bidding from a large audience. The first lots put up for sale were three-ton Stevens petrol-electric lorries. Starting at 400 guineas, there was a very quick rise up to £1,000 each, and eventually a buyer was fohnd at 1,150 guineas. The same purchaser took the option on the next vehicle at the same price. Peerless chassis fetched prices which ranged from,.650 guineas to 725 guineas, whilst A.E.C. lorries, chassis types Y.C. and were knocked down at prices varying from 800 to 900 guineas. A number of 38 h.p. Pierce-Arrow chassis offered fetched, with one exception, 700 guineas each, and a group of Pagefield lorries eventually obtained prices between 700 and 825 guineas.
