• Ryder Truck Rental has won a £2m contract to supply Budgens Stores with 59 tractor units and 128 trailers on contract-hire.
The contract is described as a "strengthening of the two companies' partnership" — as Ryder has already worked for Budgen for four years. Ryder is to buy from Budgens 26 tractor units, two shunters and 60 trailers, which are being hired back to the supermarket chain.
Budgens operates shops in the Midlands and the South and will distribute from the Wellingborough hub to 94 Budgen outlets and 48 Betta Stores.
