Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Following the adoption of Grau DGX anti-lock braking equipment as standard on all its new Daf-powered Series 80 (Roadtrain) tractive units, Leyland Daf is fitting it as standard on its 24-tonne GCW FT60. 180 (Freighter) artic model.

The Category 1 Grau antilock equipment is compatible with all known ABS systems currently used on trailers with in the UK, according to Leyland Daf, and clearly pre-empts the scheduled EC 1991 legislation on anti-lock braking which requires all vehicles over 16 tonnes drawing a heavy trailer to fit anti-lock equipment.

Leyland Daf says that as well as its Series 80 and Series 60 tractors, its 2700 and 95 Series models are already engineered for anti-lock equip ment which is currently offered as an option. The fitment of ABS on the 60 Series tractor with the 133kW (180hp) 6.2litre Daf DNT engine coincides with the adoption of the new facelifted family front end which appeared at the Motor Show last week. (Commercial Motor will be looking at proposed ABS regs in a forthcoming issue.)
