Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I' people wanted to travel by coach they should not be compelled to go by train. This was the effect of a decision by the Western Licensing Authority last week when he permitted Wessex Coaches, Ltd., to run excursions to Farnborough air display.

Mr. H. R. Holland, for British Railways, said that a special train would be run from Cardiff and Newport to Aldershot, which Bristol passengers could join. A bus would take them from Aldershot to the airfield. The Authority stated: "The railway authorities should realize that many people prefer coaches to trains. Why should we shut them out of this free dom of choice in travel? Provided there is no wasteful competition, it is our duty to put the public first."

Wessex Coaches were also allowed to run new excursions to Weston-superMare, Stow-on-the-Wold, Sudley Castle, Corsham Court and Bradford-on-Avon, also to the Severn Wild Fowl Trust, Slimbridge.
