STIMATED to produce an extra 1-• £250,000 a year, a scheme to revise bus and tram fares in Leeds has been approved by the transport committee. It is also proposed to allow old-age pensioners to travel between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at rates equivalent to children's fares. It is not intended to raise the 2d. minimum. In the year ended March 31, the transport undertaking lost £64,392 and the accumulated deficit was £434,525. The Eastern Licensing Authority has received an application from the Eastern National Omnibus Co., Ltd., to modify single and return fares on 100 stagecarriage routes. Season and workmen's tickets would be discontinued and be replaced by weekly tickets.
