WHEN five Leyland heavy-duty oilengined vehicles left Leyland railway station last week, for Belgrade, seven Yugoslav engineers were there to see them off. They are taking a course at the company's training school. The vehicles, which were dispatched fully erected, form part of an order for 25 Beaver tipping lorries which are to be used on the construction of roads, railways and bridges of military importance. They were ordered by Kompressor, of Belgrade, a Stateowned concern that supplies and services Army vehicles. Air brakes form part of the equipment of these 8-ft.-wide Beavers, which have all-steel bodies and tipping equipment made by Bromilow and Edwards, Ltd.
