Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I T was confirmed to The Commercial Motor on Tuesday that Mr. George Dawson, the financier, has bid for the whole of the parcels section of British Road Services. The matter is now in the hands of the Road Haulage Disposal Board.

There has also been a denial of the report in the Daily Herald last week that Mr. Dawson had made a personal approach to Sir Brian Robertson, chairman of the British Transport Commission, for the acquisition of the vehicles.

In the House of Commons last week, Mr. Ernest Davies asked the Minister of Transport whether he would withhold consent if an offer for the parcels organization were made by "a gentleman by the name of Dawson."

The Minister: "It would be quite improper for me to deal with any possible applications."

He had-given approval under Section 3 (3) of the 1953 Act for the sale of one transport unit including more than 50 vehicles, and one with an aggregate unladen weight exceeding 200 tons.
