National Bus has appointed Ralph Roberts, West Yorkshire Road Car general manager, as its northern region group executive. He entered the bus industry with Crosville, and was East Midland general manager for two years before taking up the West Yorkshire post in 1974.

Tom Glass, NBC's group liaison officer (public relations), has become the company's first projects manager. He joined the bus industry with Edinburgh City Transport, and moved to NBC upon its formation in 1968.

National Travel (South West) public relations officer Alan Watkins has moved to a similar post with the Midland Red Omnibus Company. He worked with local newspapers before joining National Bus.

Christopher Aston is the new Powell Duffryn Ltd chairman in succession to Sir Alec Ogilvie. He joined the company's board last year and was appointed deputy chairman.

Vic Waters has succeeded John Williamson as Michelin's general sales manager for home trade replacement. Mr Waters joined Michelin in 1954, and became deputy general sales manager, home trade, earlier this year. Mr Williamson has been with the company since 1947.
