Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I am able exclusively to reveal that back-door diplomacy by lain Sherriff, our editor, who is believed in usually well-informed circles to be an undercover agent for M155 Broadway, brought together the Road Haulage Association and the British Association of Owner-Drivers.

It appears that he arranged a luncheon for the owner-drivers and then invited John Silbermann, chairman of the RHA, who is nothing if not open-minded. They got on well together and a subsequent official meeting between the two sides produced "a considerable measure of agreement.

1 am assured that this was no engagement party and there is no question of a morganatic marriage. The two associations are just good friends. The RHA National Council was to hear officially about the overtures at its meeting on Wednesday. The outcome, I can reveal, will be entirely without benefit of test tubes.
